Nuclear powerplants are seriously dangerous if something goes wrong..take a look at Saudi Arabia and some other arabic states, they get rich like hell from selling oil to gas guzzling countries, what they`re doing now is building entire cities based on green energy, they`ve seen the future..oil, coal and nuclear plants will soon be stone age tech compared to what`s coming.

There is absolutely nothing good about nuclear power it takes one radiation leak into a food supply eg. food processing factory and that's roughly about 20 00 people diagnosed with radiation poisoning in a week!

It really does not. Re-processing uses acids to extract uranium and plutonium from the waste. The waste is not being used as fuel and it's very radioactive. It still needs to be stored until all eternity. Please read-up about the PUREX process or all of its variants.

"Nuclear power is a red herring"So are environmental concerns about Nuclear Power. It has been my experience that most people who disagree with Nuclear Power aren't so concerned with the Environmental aspects, as they are with the idea of a cheap source of energy. They somehow think that "Cheap" and "Energy" shouldn't be in the same sentence. As though it is their job to act as societies parent.

There is no problem whatsoever with Yucca Mountain other than Political Interference. You want to get elected, scream about Nuclear Power, we ALL know how bad that is.Unfortunately it has been my experience that what we ALL know is rarely, if ever, ACCURATE.There are half a dozen permits being requested for new Nuclear Plants in the US, and it isn't the result of a grand conspiracy. It is because Nuclear is as safe as Coal or Oil, and safer in regard to Global Warming. Not to mention cheap

Why?

You had better let the United States Navy in on your fantastical discovery that Plutonium is only useful in Nuclear Weapons.Seeing as how ALL their seaborne Nuclear Power Ships use Plutonium Fueled reactors (which, BTW, go their LIFETIME never needing to be refueled).
mmysama (July 21, 2008 at 4:15 am)
But nuclear re-processing also helps solve the porblem is nuclear waste, most waste can be re-processed and used as fuel.

Patrick moore, the co-founder of greenpeace is now an avid supporter of nuclear power. Nice to see people working to help the environment instead of their own agendas.

I just wish greenpeace would for once do some research on thee things. remember what is happening with biofuels? all caused by greenpeace promoting before researching!
